HELP!: In need of paint detailing, San Diego Ca

Hey everyone, my recent trip to Cleghorn trail yesterday really did a number on my paint. I have pin stripes everywhere and they are worse than I have seen before. It looks like someone took a rake to the side of my car. I tried to polish them out with several different types of polish and a DA sander with polishing cloth. nothing has worked yet and im afraid im just gonna mess up my paint.

can anyone in the SoCal (LA or San Diego) recommend a shop where I can get this buffed out? I have seen adds for full car exterior detailing. all I want is my sides done. I dont need it done with clay bar nor do I need all my tires and rims polished up. I just want the sides of my FJ not to look like Willy from the Simpsons attacked it with his rake.

bro welcome to the club, from the looks of it those go through the clearcoat and the paint at some parts, I really don't think those are gonna buff out. short of getting a new paint job in those areas I think you may be out of luck. Black shows pretty bad kinda like blue and tou got sparkle flakes in there too that need to be matched up. I just got used to mine personally. you could always go to toyota and get some touch up paint but it will still be visible in the smoothness. If you do go the repaint route and dont want this to happen again, invest in a set of magnasheilds. well worth the price in compairison to a new paint job.
Looks like you had fun at Cleg though. I got some major grinders out there too on the last steep decent.

Which seems to be a common thing with us off-road folks!

"Desert pin-striping." You pay extra at the dealership for things like that...
