Toyota FJ OEM Bike Rack?

Does anyone have the Toyota OEM bike rack? I appears to need special mounting brackets to fit the FJ roof rack but this looks like a pretty cool setup. This will keep the receiver hitch free for other stuff as well.

If you have one, how wide is the wheel tray? I have an Electra - Straight 8 bike with three inch wide tires and want to know it the tires will fit in the tray.

Re: Toyota FJ OEM Bike Rack?

Three inch wide tires on a bike? I'd be surprised if you can find a tray to fit tires that wide. Isn't that thing a ***** to handle and pedal? I'm used to my Treck OCLV road bike with super skinny tires. That thing is so frickin fast. Even my MTN bike has pretty narrow tires. But it is a XC race bike. Big fat tires usually mean a slow bike. I bet its fun for cruzing though! Good luck!

I have one. I will measure it. But let me tell you something ....

That OEM bike rack puts the bike up into the stratosphere. It makes it a two man job almost to get a bike up there. If possible, buy a hith receiver bike rack ... trust me. I have a treck I put up there and it puts the handlebars like 12 feet high.

Re: Toyota FJ OEM Bike Rack?

I understand the bike will be up there, I have been looking at the Thule rack and it requires the mounts and crossbar, I think that would be even higher. I have a cargo basket that I would like to be able to use us well so the roof is the answer for the bikes.
