Frame Paint

I want to touch up the rusty welds on the fram and other areas under the fj.

Matching the factory piant via rattle can, I was thinking a semi gloss black?

Has you touch up the frame and were you happy with the paint match?

Re: Frame Paint

X2, If you want to never see rust, use the POR-15. Expensive, but the best.

I re-did the area under a battery tray that was badly damaged by battery acid & rust. I use the POR products and it came out as good as new and is supposed to be virtually indestructible.

They also have this "Chassis Coat" stuff. This product line looks really incredible! I'm going to have to give it a try!

Re: Frame Paint

I also use this stuff called Ospho prior to painting anything that has been rusted. I lived in the FL Keys for 10 years and rust there is KING. I was turned on to Ospho which you spray on to the rusted area after you wire brush off all the loose rust. It neutralizes the rust and leaves behind a paintable surface. Stuff works well. It is a green liguid.
