Quick Update on Coleman Rack and Brush on Bedliner

OK for the folks that are doing this mod or have done this mod and are fighting the rust. We have had ALOT of rain in the last 5 days since T put my Coleman basket on my truck. Torential rain is more like it. Remember I am in New Orleans so when some of you get snow, I get rain and lots of it. Thank goodness no hail. T

he sealant that I have done on my rack has held up fine and NO RUST! I think the ticket is to totally seal up the joints from the outside that way water cannot intrude to get to the inside.

With all that said, my test has passed and I am going to go ahead and seal the rest of the rack with the bedliner.

good to know. I think I'm gonna do my front FabFours bumper and the rear warn bumper with line-x or some similar product once the powdercoat gets messed up enough.

Kim,

Thanks for the input, mine paints my roof brown every time it rains. I put it on in the Fall and had intended to remove it in Spring and give it a proper paint job. I will be using the bed liner. Thanks again!!

No problem at all! I am just glad that it appears to be doing the trick. Plus, it really looks TOUGH!

I did the full bedliner coat treatment too. No rain at all here since I did it (about a month ago), but I certainly do like the look. It's held up very well to some loading and unloading abuse too.
