Any fender flares other than Bushwacker ?

I just got caught by police about my FJ mud tires that are about 2" offset from the fender. I will need to extend the fender flare, but I just found the one from Bushwacker. IMO, they are not the best looking in town.

Anyone got something else from another company?

Thx

Re: Any fender flares other than Bushwacker ?

Not that I know of. I'm not into the bushwacker flares either. To each his own I guess. I've been toying with the idea of having some flares custom made. I want them to look just like the factory ones, but a little wider. I probably won't get around to this for a while because my current tires don't stick out. Let us know if you find anything or decide to fab something up.

Wow...cops give you crap about that when I see big rigs all around here that don't have mud flaps. I'm going to be putting Bushwackers on mine but I painted all of the silver bolts black as well. They look better that way IMO.

Looks like the Bushwackers are the only way to go, I found nothing else available.

Maybe painting the bolts black will help.

Will give it a couple more days of tought.

Re: Any fender flares other than Bushwacker ?

Just get a shop to custom fab you some. I wouldn't settle for something I'm not crazy about just because there are no other commercially available options. Custom work is always cooler anyhow. Sets you apart! It doesn't cost as much as you think. Sounds like the cops in your area are dick heads. Actually that seems to be that case in many areas. No offense to all the good cops out there, but it is true. I agree that the BW flares look better with the bolts blacked out, but the overall appearance doesn't do it for me. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Wink Re: Any fender flares other than Bushwacker ?

We picked up a set of Wacker flares back in Dec. and they kicked around the house for 2 weeks before I took them back. Just couldn't get into them , very plasticky and the more I read the instructions the worse it got, cutting and hacking on our Lil Goat is not my idea of a good time. Just had a bad feeling about them , glad we took them back.

Re: Any fender flares other than Bushwacker ?

Look's like I will pass on the Wacker and wait for something that looks more like the stock one. Maybe if I get enough mud on my truck, cops won't notice the tires offset !!

Re: Any fender flares other than Bushwacker ?

did the cops say you had to go in for inspection? or did they just give you a warning? If you have to go get inspected just put your old tires back on to pass and then put the other back on after. Chances of this happening again are very slim....
