Prinsu Designs RoofRac FJ

Finally got my Prinsu roof rack installed. Purchased during a group buy at Tacoma World and had been collecting dust in my basement while I was on strike duty for the last 7 weeks.

If I didn't find and restore an original all pro rack I would have went with Prinsu Designs ... Also a Utah company which I support!

Re: Prinsu Designs RoofRac FJ

I installed one on my wife's 2013. I machined blocks from aluminum to mount the rack. I did not like the tubing spacers that came with the rack. So far I have been satisfied with the performance. The only negative is wind noise. It is unbearable at 80+ mph. Looking to install dynomat to help with that. Last week I mounted our CVT 6' x 8' tent to the top. The rack supports it well.

Regarding the tubing spacers, I opted to use black UHMW (Ultra High Molecular Weight) HPDE blocks that are approx 7/8" wide by 3/4" high and the length of the opening (~4 in).

For the wind noise, i didnt find it too bad, but was getting a bad vibration from about 32 mph to 40 mph (like a tuning fork). I installed the 80/20 T slot covers into the grooves and it eliminated the vibration and reduced the noise.

These come n 6 ft lengths and are $1.85 each. Not cheap to do every slot but keeps some of the moisture and leaves, dirt out of the grooves too.

Re: Prinsu Designs RoofRac FJ

All,

looks like a potential Fall group buy is going on over at Tacoma World for Prinsu Roof Racks. Last one in Spring 2016 was capped at 150 with plenty of disappointed people who didn't get on the list (I bought my rack during that group buy).

They are up to about 45 or so interested people in a rack so far. So if you have an interest, you might want to get your name on the list. Looks like it will be in the 15-20% discount range.

search for "PRINSU GROUP BUY FALL 2016" or go to the Group Buy forum.
