ARB bumper install

So I installed my ARB front bumper and a Smitty built xrc 8 in the bumper I have to start out with a few things that I was disappointed in: I went to install the Smitty built and when you install the winch in the bumper it is not flat like in a lot of applications it is mounted vertical inside the bumper and bolted to the fair lead rollers, now the ARB instructions tell you to take the end cap off the winch and rotate the cap side of the winch three screws so that the clutch lever is able to be easily used from the top but you can't do this with the Smitty built because of the design of the winch. And the other thing I was kind of disappointed in was the fact that the ARB needed some adjustments because it seems that when it was welded it tweaked a little but I guess that is life when installing non factory parts. But I can say it looks *****'n so far and other than a few set back the install went relatively well and here are a few pics of the install and some comments

The begining





Small brush guard off

Captive nut that was welded into the frame was drilled per the ARB instructions



Installed side bracket for bumper fit kit and bent the ac line to move it out of the way



second bumper fit kit piece piece aka the new bumper support bolted on




Then we had to struggle with installing the winch and fair lead rollers which bolt togetherand are all very heavy so i didnt get a chance to take pics of the install of these pieces.

but now i have finished pics





so over all the bumper install went well but did have a few speed bumps

Looks like a terrific upgrade. I am not a fan of those so called "bull bars" that are merely glorified light bars. I like your roof lighting as well.
Also, what part are you referring to as tweaked? Only issues i had were getting both sides to be the same height. For mine, this was impossible by about 1.5cm.

I have the same issue with mine (AP), but I got used to it quickly. The frame is going to twist and flex. It doesn't bother me that much-anymore. Glad I'm not alone though.

Thats a great upgrade. Im seriously considering an ARB bumper over others, even the Titan.

OH, hey. Make sure you go pick up some 1/4" or slightly bigger fuel line, about 6 inches. Cut it down one side, and slide it over the a/c line where it is close to the bumper.
I know you said you bent it out the way like the instructions say to do, but people have had issues with it still getting back to the bumper. It is about 3 dollars of insurance that could save you a couple hundred in a/c repairs.

yes the sides were dificult to get level they are off a little but the piece that needed adjustment was the main piece of the fit kit the one that bolts onto the front

I bought mine from Jacque Arnondin at Genuine Toyota Parts and Accessories wholesale to the public. they were great and I think that they were in the high 8's before shipping. They were awesome to work with and they are a vendor on the forum.
