The passenger armrest has to be removed to fit the Tuffy console, but the console has a nice padded armrest on top of it that replaces the one you remove from the seat.
I love mine and even did the enhanced security that has you drill one hole and bolt to body.
No it will not work with passenger armrest but that is why I did not get one as I was planning on the Tuffy before I bought FJ.
Heavy duty steel construction...great lock...uses current bin area behind cup holder...initially uses same too bolt holes that hold the rear of oem console in place.
Cusion is very thick on top and lines up perfect with my armrest....I really like that it allows me to lock a wallet, gun, gps, etc inside and not worry about it...plus is dust/water resistant with way lid is constructed and gasket material that comes with it.
30 minute install at most...

one of the best interior mods i've done. Awesome product. Actually more comfortable than the passenger armrest anyhow. you won't be disappointed.

It wont, this was not issue for me since my FJ did not come with the passenger armrest. My passengers are much happier with this than they would have been with the standard armrest because of the width, height and padding. It also give you a surprising large amount of secure storage. I did the simple no drill install, it took about 2 minutes if not less.
I actually use mine as a drivers arm rest too. The seat armrest is too close to narrow and not at a comfortable position for me. I use the tuffy arm rest for my elbow, and then lay my arm down at an angle so my forearm is supported by the drivers armrest. Very comfortable. Also when shifting (manual) I like to rest my elbow on the tuffy top. It is positioned perfectly for the length of my arm.
