Daytime Running Lights and HIDs

Hey guys...new to the boards. Waiting for my TT to arrive off the boat next week. EXCITED!

I think I know the answer to this question but I just wanted to make sure. Do I have to disconnect the Daytime Running Lights in order to run aftermarket HIDs? TIA...

Re: Daytime Running Lights and HIDs

I have HIDs and they act as day time running lights. They are on all the time, the only thing is when ever I turn on the hi beam lever, it turns the light off.

So your HIDs are never turned off?

Re: Daytime Running Lights and HIDs

I turned my DRL off when i put on my HID's the reason was because DRL run at a lower voltage than the regular beams, so this might affect you're igniter, some HID's will flicker when you don't disable the DRL., if i were you i would disable them just to be on the safe side.
