Yakima Skybox12 Help???

I am looking to add a Yakima Skybox12 to my setup. I have seem some stories on here about the cross load bars from toyo not being worthy of a set up with a box and the solution being crossbars from your cargo box manufacture. My question is the skybox12 worthy of purchase and can I mount the lowrider claw upside down like the U bolt example to decrease the profile so it sits under instead of over?

Re: Yakima Skybox12 Help???

no, the claw will not fit all the way around the bar therefore you will have gravity working against you. I would suggest just going with the setup over the bar. It only adds a couple inches. Good luck.
