OEM Auxiliary Lights on the TT Edition

I was wondering if anyone knew how to rewire these lights by switching on that button to turn them on versus having to flip on the high beams. I installed after market HIDs and would like to use them with my HIDs but I have to turn on the high beams to make them work.

If someone knew how to tap into the wire to make it turn on with the push of the button, that would be very helpful. I'm thinking that all I would have to do is to run constant power to the power wire and it should work? Thanks in advance...

Easy.


Tear out the wiring loom for the lights, then:

Buy a switch (preferably a 3 prong switch).

Wire power to the switch, ground the switch, then wire the power from the switch to the lights.*




*This way is somewhat risky since you have no relay, but i use mine every night without a relay.

Thanks! I might do it this way if I can't find out how to do it by using the factory button. I'd like to keep that button there. :P

Thats what I did for the first 10 months since I had no clue about using relays. Finally when I got more lights, I did some searching and now have everything wired with relays.


Using a relay allows you to run smaller gauge wire to the switch inside the cabin. Basically how I understood it, the relay is a switch that is triggered by another switch usually inside the cabin.

But instead of wiring it from the switch, can I cut into the wire thats runing along the engine bay and do it based on this schematic?
