adhesive gunk removal help?

I should fess up, this isn't an FJC question, it's for my Honda Accord, but this is such a good brain trust, I'm such a moron with stuff, and hopefully this is useful even for FJC stuff:

I have some old adhesive from mounting tape for some dash trim on my glove box and a couple of other areas. This dash material is like that in the FJC, maybe a bit softer. Any ideas on how I can remove it and get the dash / glove box cover back to a stock look?

Thanks.

goo-gone is great stuff that you can pick up from your local hardware store. It works well but wont damage the dash. Put some on and let it sit and it should just wipe away. Good luck

x2... if it leaves some "oily residue" behind, I use some denatured alcohol on a rag to get it all off... it dissolves the oil and evaporates before your eyes...

I use this:

It is supposedly stronger than "Goo-gone" so be careful if you use it.
