Okay guys maybe you can help me out. I've started a center console/glove box build.. made the design cut out the framework went to fit it to make sure that it works. took off the arm rests to make sure that it would fit only to find that there are these two little knobs sticking out of both chairs that activated the arm rests lock mechanism. Wth? I've browsed through pretty much all of the center console / glove box build threads and no one has ever mentioned these knobs that will of course impede the opening of my glove box? Has anyone else encountered these? Are they removable? do you have to grind them down if you plan to make it permanent which I probably would never do? FRUSTRATED!

Keep the driver side arm rest and go with a Tuffy security Console. It will give you a great lockable center storage box while providing a real nice arm rest for the passenger seat.

Just saying......

Trace the arc where they hit the sides of your box and then use a router to make a channel for them to move in.

That would only work if you never plan to adjust the angle of the seat back, or slide the seat forward or back.

Sad/sorry, but I think this one may end up in the "Failed Mod" thread?

The reason why we retain memories is because we are not caught in a time loop. The reason why we are not caught in a time loop is because it is not possible to go backwards in time only forward!

Yep. Must have made that thing extra wide as they really don't stick out very much.
