Hi doc, good meeting you at Ouray and I'm happy with the rack system thanks again for installing it right there'n then! It sure cleaned it up back there...no real heavy things in the bags, all the heavy stuff I have in the TT schwag bags.

the cage would be a good safety feature in case off the nasty.

The Rear rack looks good! Not too bad for getting done in the dark

I'm pretty pumped about the barrier, hopefully these lower mounts prove to be as versatile as I think they will...I should have some drawings in a couple of days.

This is a very cool product. We have been looking for a similar item for our FJ and our dog. I was wondering if the metal mesh is sharp. I guess I'm concerned that if we stop quickly our dog could get injured on the mesh. That would be a bummer.

Looks to be about the same size as our Bull Mastiff. He is about 125, and still growing... Way to big to try and force in the very back...
Reggie needed us to make a choice, and we did. Our FJ is now a 2 seater 100% of the time.
For us, we would need a barrier that will fit the front seats. It would be so nice if you could do a front seat barrier for us "Big" dog people.
I must say, yours does look real strong, about the best I have seen.

The mesh loses it's sharpness with the powdercoat process. We were careful to pic a style of mesh that would resist cutting little fingers and wet noses. Injury is always possible but will be less likely than if there was no barrier there at all (ie: less distance for your dog to travel before hitting something solid).
The redesign should allow for a flat surface to the cargo area and we have flattened the center angled metal for the surface facing the passenger compartment. I will try to get some pics of the redesign up soon.

Note the removable lower mounts and flat center bars that will allow mounting of items on both sides. We decided to keep the flat mesh surface on the cargo side due to welding issues and now that the center bars are flat, there is no issue of any sharp surfaces near the head rests on the passenger side.

The price went up a bit (about $15.00) with the addition of the 2 lower removable mounts and special hardware so I anticipate a Forum price of $215.00.

We should have the real item to test in about 3 weeks

The center bars will be set up to take a standard #10 bolt (Quickfist size) and as you can see there are a lot of holes for different configurations. We are planning on cutting coordinating holes in future FJ rear door Racks (to directly bolt up to the barrier) for those who want to hang MOLLE bags. We will just have to see how the new lower mounts work out in real life.

There have been a lot of small changes as well, we had lots of constructive input at Summit.
