Re: What Should I Pay for Blackout??

I rattle canned, f***ed up, and ended up paying $200 for the whole deal. High quality work too.

Do Not Paint The Handles... Go To Your Toyota Dealer And Ask For The O8 Tundra Black Handles They Should Not Cost You Anymore Then $25 Each... And Then Rest I Had Painted For 150.00... You An Buy The Peices From The Trail Teams All White Edition But I Already Priced That From The Dealer And That Costs Over A Thousand Bucks.... But Just Make Sure You Dont Paint The Handles... I Did That Originally And The Paint Wears Off Over Time With Ware And Tear....

Re: What Should I Pay for Blackout??

Trail Teams Mirrors Are Expensive! The Toyota Dealer Even Told Me That Painting It Is Just Better Cuz He Said He Has Had Several People Who Have Scratched The Black Bumpers Already From The Trail Teams Edition And Its Very Obvious Because They Are Black... He Said Juat Paint It Cuz Replacing Them Time After Time Will Get Expensive And I Prived The Mirrors And The Are Around A Lil Over 200 Each... You Can Buy All The Blacked Out Parts From The Trail Teams Edition From Your Toyota Dealer But Its Comes To Over A Thousand Bucks... I Had Mine Painted Matte Black And It Looks Great And I Paid 100! Dont Try Doing It Yourself... Trying To Take Apart The Bumper Is A Pain And There Are A Crap Load Of Little White Clips That Hold In Those Silver Corners That You Want Blacked Out And Its Just Not Fun.... And The Mirrors Are A Pain To Take Off.... The Handles On The Other Are Easy To Replace... I Did That My Self.. I Was Not About To Pay Toyota 75 Bucks To Do That Litlle Job For Me!....i Can Send You Pics If You Need Them

Why? It is actually really easy. Just take a little time turning a wrench. Can easily be done on a saturday morning. I've done it. Also, did the mirrors. Once again, few bolts, few plastic clips, and the best part, i paid about 10 bucks for blacked out mirrors.
I do agree on not spending the money for TT parts though. However, some people have lots of cash and not much time, so this is better for them.

i went ahead and got the TT parts since i have family that work for toyota dealers. didn't seem like a lot for the parts. paid under 550 fir the mirrors, door handles, key bezels and grill. i just know i don't have to worry about repainting couple times a year after getting rock chipped to death.

Re: What Should I Pay for Blackout??

funjunkie has a post offering help with the black out. He 's down in SD. He asks for pizza, beer and conversation as payment.
