Blackout in progress, quick question!

I am in the process of doing the blackout, i had the door panels removed by my audo guy because i have had bad luck with breaking clips and what not. getting ready to put the mirrors back on , just wanted to know if the door panels just clip back on and i have to put the screws and clip in right?

Re: Blackout in progress, quick question!

hook the door at the top first and then knock all the x-mas tree clips in with your hand, then install the two screws and one other push in clip in the front. Done.

x2 make sure you connect the door handle and locking mechanism, and that you hook them up correctly. Connect them, then try them, then snap it all back together.

Looks like the FJ handles, rattle can, are already scratched. I spent $30 for the Tundra handles due to daily use and primer-painted everything else silver a nice coat of black. My FJ is black and the mirrors and middle front/rear bumper inserts have held up nicely however oddly the bumper wings have proved problematic for holding paint. Not sure if it's due to the sand & wind in FL or just due to the fact that mine is a work truck with in inordinate amount of off pavement drivng. The front bezel still looks BA but the "wings" need constant attention. Thinking of TT'ing the silly bumper wings due to the the $$$ of replacing the bumpers plus I'm happy with the current ride hight and am apprehensive with dumping $2K worth of bumpers with stock everything else. Don't want a goofy looking ride , what.

Did you scuff sand and primer, use adhesion promoter or just use plastic paint?? I havnt had the slightest chip fall off yet and I've ripped scratches into my doors down to the primer. Just wondering, some folks complained of the paint chipping but I've not seen it.
