Hella 500's on amazon for sale $39.99 plus shipping. Great deal, only wish I had seen it before I bouth them at Walmart for $60/pair.

What's the general feeling on these? Are they decent? The plastic housing makes me nervous...

I have a couple on the bumper. I just use them as pure street driving lights and they are good not great. They throw a pretty straight driving light type beam for looking down the road. If I was looking to light up a trail I would go with PIAA's.

I had four of them mounted ontop of the cage on my Range Rover Classic. There was soo much glare from the reflector if you got dust on the windshield, you couldn't see out of it. Lights are just another one of those you get what you pay for deals.

I just put mine on the bar last night!...got em at the WM in Va Beach on my way back south!...Im a day late n a dollar short....Thanks for the info though, can always light her up more.

Those were even cheaper yesterday morning...$29.99 but I think they were selling too fast so they jacked up the price.

They are well made and will hold up. I have five on the front of my rig and have no problems with them. Lost of sand & salt, trees and mud, never a problem. They aren't the brightest, but throw a pretty good amount of light in fornt of you. The latest issues of FJC Mag has a good aux light comparison and they talk about the hella. For the price they can't be beat. Two hellas are half as much as 1 PIAA.

These are good lights. I had them on my Jeep Wrangler mounted on the windshield hinge. They work well and held up for the 7+ years I had them on. Also, Hella's customer service is top notch. I e-mailed that about the covers breaking and had a new pair in the mail within a week, no questions asked.

I just ordered a pair. Thanks!
