Interior / Exterior Visual TechThis section contains discussion related to visual modifications of the Toyota FJ Cruiser. Some items might include dash kits, roof rack modifications and other visual modifications.
I really do not want or need the spare on the back of the truck. If I take a road trip, I will either mount it back, or throw it in a trailer I pull, or throw it on the roof rack.
I have not pulled it yet but see 4 bolts on the door.
Anyone else removed the spare with the mount and what did you do to pretty it up a little?
I did a search "spare tire removal" and "spare mount removal" and came up with nothing.

Depends on how committed you are to doing this. Body Shop would probably charge you about $400.00 to make it like it was never there. Other than that, some round head bolts with touch up paint would do the trick.
this is the fastest way to make the FJ go from cool to ugly. The rear gets kinda ugly when you take that tire off....
I can imagine. I think there is something to be said for "stock" haven't seen any mods yet that make me stop and say, "Holy Crap!! does that look better!!"
