Got my BR last week. Apparently I got the "Special edition" one piece design. .
All of their racks are made this way.

But, in order to reduce shipping costs, they cut the rack up into 3rds and then ship it. But if you want to pick it up at their shop or pay extra for the shipping, they will accommodate you. Very good customer service over at Bajarack, A+++

Re: I'm contemplating the BajaRack. Please gimme your pics & opinions.

I just assumed it to be called "Special Edition" since that is what the label said. I guess this refers to the fact that the rack is specific to the FJ? I ordered through Sierra Expeditions and wasn't aware of any options. To be honest, I am sure I paid extra in shipping for the one-piece, but ignorance is bliss.

Thanks for the input! We now have enough volume to ship ot the 1 piece racks, and yes the only way to get a 1 piece before was to pick them up directly from us.Once again Thanks to our customers and distributors for success. See you at the Summit! Cris

Re: I'm contemplating the BajaRack. Please gimme your pics & opinions.

I originally picked the BR for its price and positive reviews. I had no immediate need, but wanted to make my FJ stand out a little, and for it to look more like a truck.

I've found several uses for it, in a short amount of time. Fishing poles, throwing logs on top to burn later, etc...

I like Steves idea, and think I am going to just massage the dent out of my air damn, and paint it a flatter black. Powder coat would be my main choice, but I don't have a way to cook that large of a piece in my garage.

The more I use the FJ, the more I like it. I climbed on the bumper and spare tire, to get on the roof. Had to move some things around to tie them down. On my descent from the roof, I mistook the rear license light shrowd for the bumper (it was dark outside). Only a footprint, and nothing else. I think most vehicles would have had a different story.

I really like this rack, and look forward to adding more functionality to it. With the bottom bars, there are so many options. And, it creates a flat loading floor.

If you look closely at the first pic (below), you'll see a slight dent/crease at the air dam's mounting screws (over the driver's door) that I also had to "massage out" before re-painting. (Hardly a big deal, considering the otherwise near-perfect qualities of this rack. And, the crease likely occurred during shipping.))

Re: I'm contemplating the BajaRack. Please gimme your pics & opinions.

A forgot to mention that I love the addition of the "cop" lights. Is there a writeup on them? Where did you purchase them? I am very interested in adding these. Some extra lights up front are in the works, and to keep the lights off the top, would be good. What I like most about the setup, is that you can put the light right where you need it.

I was originally thinking of modding the racks front, to recess some lights on top. But, your version makes more sense for what I use my truck for.
