Well, all of your positive comments led me to order the BajaRack.

The good folks at the BajaRack company were kind enough to tell me that if I ordered it through TRParts4U, I'd get a better shipping rate due to my particular geographical location.

So, both me and best friend (and forum member) LongRifle each ordered one for our respective Sun Fusion FJ's, and they're on the way.

I'll provide a full report on its installation and usage.

Thanks again to everyone for all their advice and comments.
Congrats Steve!!!

I ordered mine through bajarack but i met them at an event and got Gerone to bring it there to me so i scored it with no shipping! You'll be very happy with your purchase.

One last thing...anyone have a Baja vs OEM height? I'm at near critical height in my garage.
Good question. I'm intereseted in it as well and if its 2inches higher than OEM I won't be fitting in the garage at work.

My Baja Rack is sitting in the garage waiting for a free few hours to intall it I will get you a complete write up and pics when it happens.

Doc
good luck..and thanks but if she was not just cleaned and you got closer you could see all the scratches and dings in her paint....she is like an old stripper....hot from a distance but the wear and tear is visible around her eyes and mouth up close.

it is the same I think...I was 6'6" with 17 wheels and 295x70x17 nittos with 3" ome lift, full bud builts, rear warn, front demello with 12k Titan winch.

I could just squeak under the garage opening and would touch the rubber lip that keeps rain from blowing in around door frame. With the BajaRack I have about 1/2 inch of room to play with. I think it is overall lower to tell you the truth.

I can get a height from roofline for you as everyones stance is different on vehicle ride heights...then you can measure from your own roofline at the highest point as well.

Thanks Brock for the info. That's probably good enough information for me. I just wanted to see how it compared to the stock roof rack and see if I'd still fit into the garage at work. Sounds quite promising! Now I just have to come up with a motorized system to raise some lights up and down on the rack.

Yes, thanks Brock. Good enough. Now I just have to decide between armor or rack before Ouray.

Ahhh how'd I miss this thread! Glad to heard you went for the BR, you won't be disappointed...

Racks like the Gobi and ARB are definitely extremely nice, but waaaay too much money and waaaay too much weight. And the question is - what's the point? I'm glad those will hold 15,000,000lbs but you never will and never should load the roof like that.

The BajaRack is better because it's 'just right'...

PM me and I will get actual measurements for the BajaRack. I did it for my oem once before but did not keep the numbers...just typed them and hit SEND. LOL Hopefully I will remember to post the numbers here....hahahaha
