The solution is simple, rack replacement. HoTsAuZe just send me your address to the following e-mail smurillo@bajarack.com and we will replace the rack

No kidding!!

Like I said previously, these guys were more concerned about making sure that I got the least expensive shipping costs on the BajaRack for my particular part of the country. They could've just as easily sold me one of their racks directly (for a more substantial profit). But instead, they referred me to one of their closer dealers for the sole purpose of saving me money.

As a moderator on this forum, I try to remain somewhat unbiased on our vendor's products and service. However, this is a company that more than deserves my personal endorsement.

Re: I'm contemplating the BajaRack. Please gimme your pics & opinions.

When I get my FJ, I will most likely get this rack. Here's a question for you guys though... Does anyone have a Thule mounted to their baja rack?

Reason I ask this question is because in the pictures, it appears that the rack is somewhat bowed, higher in the center. when using a thule, is there difficultly with using say, a bike tray or a ski rack because of the curvature of the rack rails? I know that for some cars, because of the curvature of the roof, some people would have to go with a yakima rack because it has round crossbars. I personally don't like the yakima racks and I'd like to stick to thule.

Hi, great report Brock any info on the Gobi or Baja ladders? or are they about the same constrution, has anyone compared both of these products thanks in advance Mike
I have the Gobi ladder and I love it. Use it all the time to get up to the roof rack. I'm sure that the Baja ladder will serve the same purpose just as well, but looking at the pic of it above, it has a funky curve to it that I don't like. The lateral (anatomically) vertical tube looks like it curves toward the medial vertical tube. That just looks funky to me.

That's a first. Did it break at the weld or did the metal fail at the tab? I'll get Sergio to post up a solution. Cris
It looks like the weld itself broke

Re: I'm contemplating the BajaRack. Please gimme your pics & opinions.

I am very interested in getting this rack. Any ideas on how to best haul a kayak with this rack in place?

Should I order direct from Baja Rack?

I'm sure this rack could somehow accommodate a kayak.

As far as where to buy it, call BajaRack. They'll honestly tell you the best place to order it, as well as, who will give you the best shipping rates for your location.

Re: I'm contemplating the BajaRack. Please gimme your pics & opinions.

I ordered the BajaRack last week. UPS neglected to call me to arrange drop off. I eventually called them, when it was 2 days after the estimated arrival date. They cited no telephone number for me, even though it was right after the letters "PO" on the tracking info. It arrived a few days late, but the driver was very nice and actually helped me dolly the thing about 400 feet from my road to the shop (it came in a semi trailer, and it would have been kind of difficult to navigate my driveways with a rig).

The install went pretty smoothly. I had a friend help me, and it went up very quick. I was removing factory hardware, while he was unpacking. I was applying sealant to the factory holes, while he unpacked and placed each bracket on the roof, in it's proper place. I hand threaded each bracket, while he unpacked the big box. Two to throw it on, and I finished the bolt down myself. One hour, maybe.
