Matte pros and cons?

Just wondering what the pros and cons for a matte(flat) paint job are vs. a regular paint job.

Thanks!

Re: Matte pros and cons?

You should ask the guy who posted up the flat black FJ a while back. Basically they don't put a clear coat on it, but I've never seen pics of one offroad to see how it holds up.

If you run a search the thread will probably pop up and might have some more details.

Re: Matte pros and cons?

They had a Matt Black Lambo at Lambo Dallas and they said they would never do it again. It's impossible to keep clean. SO now they wrap them instead. The wrap is 1/10th the price of a good Matt paint job(approx8K) and it's easier to maintain. When your sick of it, just take it off.

Re: Matte pros and cons?

My top is painted flat black and I regret it. It looks killer but it is always dirty. Dust seems to stick to it more than the regular paint.
