New Member looking to purchase a 2013 Trail Team

Hello Everyone,

I have had my eye on a new 2013 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Edition. If anyone has intel on when they will start shipping please let me know. I have spoken to 3 local Toyota dealers and all I have to say is "Buiness must be good" because they don't seem to care about selling me one. I also called Toyota in California and the customer service reps were very nice but they actually said" I'm not really a car person so please be patient " then they said dealers can order the FJ Cruiser Trail Team and provide you pricing.

That all said should I wait until they start becoming more readily available?

any suggestions are appreciated.

not sure I can help with your question. I got my 2012 TT late in the year, drove by and saw it sitting in the showcase spot in front of the dealer and had to have it lol.

I like my all red but I gotta say that grey 2013 looks pretty cool. Good luck.

I know I'm not in Maryland (but I was born in Baltimore). Small world.

Expect to pay mid 30's and up if the dealer adds stuff. Initial TT's will bring sticker. Waiting is a gamble, but you will get a better deal after the buzz dies and there are several sitting on competitors lots.

If you want to get a Trail Teams without getting gouged the secret is to buy one where the demand is not so great. I can give you the number of 2 Toyota dealerships in Iowa that would be thrilled to take an order in advance and give you a honest/fair deal. Then you can plan an impromtu trip back through some of the best off roading country in the world.

Agreed on the $40K neighborhood.

Thanks for the replies... I know supply and demand will dictate what I pay. I bought a 2003 V8 4 Runner Sport the 1st month they came out and paid 2K under sticker so I guess it depends on who you know and how hard they are to get.

My Daughter claimed the 4 Runner and I'm bouncing between my 2006 Acura TL and 2007 Acura MDX. I really want a FJ but maybe I'll just drive my MDX this winter and start seriously looking in the spring.

Welcome. The 2013 is already out. When ever I go to long Beach for business, I see the toyota distribution center which is next to the facility that i do the Business with. on Friday I counted 14 Fj in there lot all parked next to each other and I could see 3 Orange color which going to be a cop magnet and 5 TTs. It is the matter of tracking them down. I know I had to hunt mine down in San Francisco, 500 miles from home, back in December of 2009, I probably called some 50+ dealers till I got the one I want and made deal over the phone.
