Welcome! Burned through tires already? How many miles do you have?

20,921 as of 5 min ago. Stock dunlops had 3/8 left on them, but I've hated those tires since I bought the rig. Bouncy, soft, felt like driving on Jello.
I lived out in East Texas for a bit, Red clay like soil. It clogs up even the best of mud tires, but the dunlops may have just as well been racing slicks.
So I get the goofy tire warning light on the helm of the FJ. as I'm inspecting the wheels I see a giant bolt of some sort firmly planted in the sidewall of the front passenger side tire, and another on the drivers side rear.
Discount tire said the sidewall damage was pretty nasty. Of course I have the 1 spare, but I would have had to buy another tire, and with 3/8 left on them I saw no need to wait any longer.
Discount tire guy (burnet Rd) hooked me up though. Ended up with 5 10ply tires because they only had 4 of the 6 ply. Dude gave me the 6 ply price. He gave me 35 for the good tires 50 for the brand new spare, came off the BFG's a bit and BFG has a $50 rebate card going on right now. Out the door, warranty, mount, balance and a hell of a wheel clean job for 5 BFG A/T KO 10 ply 285/70/17 $1250
Now it's on to bumpers, and sliders, and I desperately need to do the level kit or a 3" lift. I'm handy, but with everything but cars.... haha.
