Hello from the beautiful Ozark mountains

Hello everyone!

A little about myself first.

I currently drive a 2001 Ford Sport Trac and the wife has a 2005 Dodge Magnum SXT. We have an 18 month old daughter that surprised us after 17 years of being married!

I test drove an FJC yesterday at lunch and I am hooked.

It drove very well on the highway and I felt very comfortable in it. I told the salesman that was riding along that I really wanted to climb something. He directed me to an area right next to the dealership. There was this grassy hill about 25 feet up and angled at about 25-30 degrees. He told me to try and climb and when I got about half way up the rear tires started to spin. We tried the rear diff lock and they still spun. I backed down the hill, engauged 4 wheel high and diff lock and the FJC climbed the hill like it was it's only purpose in life!

When I got back in the parking lot there was a little diffeculty getting it out of 4WD and back into 2WD. Is this common or does it take practice?

Is there anyone that has a car seat in the back and how diffecult is it to get your child in and out?

I've never ownd a 4WD vehicle but I've watched a lot of "Trucks" and "4X4 tv" on TNN!

I'm sure I will have more questions so I will thank you in advance!

John

Re: Hello from the beautiful Ozark mountains

I think from 4Hi to 2wd in an AT, you need to be moving.

My fiance and I tested out the car seat thing, and if you put the seat in the middle of the back seat, it fits good. Otherwise you would need to move up the front seat.

BTW.... Welcome!!!!

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

Thanks Chewey. I have short legs so that shouldn't be a problem! They are safer in the middle of the vehicle anyway.

Re: Hello from the beautiful Ozark mountains

There are anchors in the seats for car seats, so they do latch in there pretty good. Being 6'2" the car seat couldn't be behind me, but we did get it figured out.

Did you test dirve an AT or MT???
