Newbie....Titanium Metallic

Hello All.......

I ordered a Metallic Titanium FJ - 6 speed on 2-15-07. It will be here in 3 VERY LONG months.....but I know it will be worth the wait in the end......

I got the convenience package, upgrade package #2, all weather mats/cargo mat, xm radio, security system, and roof rack......

How do fellow FJ owners like the stereo for the upgrade package #2 with subwoofer? Just curious!

And also any good/bad about the accessories/options I chose....thanks!

I will definitely post picts when I get mine.....Looking fwd to posting more and reading more about the FJ and different owners.....

Thanks
JM

Re: Newbie....Titanium Metallic

Congrats on the FJ. You chose the best color. I have no idea about the sub, I have heard that others do not really care for it and replace it with custom cabinets. I didn't get the UPg2 pack, I got upg1. Start buying your mods!

Re: Newbie....Titanium Metallic

Congrats on your wise decision.........as far as the accessories you ordered, it sounds exactly like mine, if you ordered what you wanted then I don't think you'll be disappointed.

About the sub, I've heard nothing but slamming the OEM sub. I have one, and with XM it sounds just fine, but I guess that would depend on wether you are an audiophile or not. Also depends on wether or not you got it just for personal listening pleasure, or if you want one that irritates the pi$$ outta everyone around you for several blocks. I like mine and for the extra $60 I think it was worth it.
3 months sounds like a fairly long lead time, if you didn't put any deposit on it, I'd check around a bit, there are some out there ready to go. The dealer might just be padding his sales stats.

Thumbs up Re: Newbie....Titanium Metallic

Welcome to the board!

My FJ is on the boat leaving Yokahama as I write. It's Silver Metallic also, about the only color that appealed to me, almost went for the Black Cherry, but it was a bit to girly for me, it's really a dark magenta. Wish they would have used the original tan and green of the FJ40's.

For those who have FJ's on order and can't wait to see the owners manual and Toyota mod instructions... there is a site that has downloads of the above, look under Manuals and Movies at.. eff jay cruserowners dot com

Re: Newbie....Titanium Metallic

Hello All

Yeah, I have to wait 3 months for a reason. I did not get it from a dealer. I work for Toyota......so the wait/price is worth it in the end. It is a long damn time though I must admit!!!!!!!
I have a Jeep Wrangler Sport right now, soft top, and am looking forward to having the solidness over my head and around me. The soft top was great when I lived in Florida (which is where I am originally from), but now I am in KY....its not so great. Thankfully the resale value of Jeeps in KY is VERY good, so I will make a good amount of money on it from what I owe now.

Thanks Jerrore for the stereo information. I used to be a big fan of all the stereo stuff when I was younger.....but now I just want to hear a nice sounding system. Yes, I was an obnoxious kid with all the speakers, went to car shows, etc. Hey, I was young, dont hold it against me But as long as the stereo sounds good, I am fine. I also got the Xm radio, I am looking fwd to that!

I have seen some posts regarding the loudness of the wind with the roof rack on the highway? How bad is it??? I am just curious, that is one thing I hate w/ the Jeep right now is the soft top on the highway.....it is extremely loud.

Thanks
JM
