RRRRRrrrrrr - damn dealer fooked up my FJ

Background Story: I worked a deal with my dealer to custom paint the roof to match the FJ (Ti Sil) They call me Wed, while I was out of town to inform me that it will be ready when I return.

Story Today: So, I show up today to pick up my FJ. Quite excited in fact. I get there, walk over to the FJ. Only to see the paint job looks like a 5 year old did it with a roller.

I speak to the manager and mention that I have experience painting. All they did was tape off the silver / white line and paint the white. Overspray was everywhere as well as tape residue....UNDER THE PAINT!!! All they had to do was a nice sanding with a blend. RRRrrrrr...

WTF!

After explaining my frustration and expectation, the manager said it will be done right and ready on Tuesday.

RRrrrrrrrr... I want my FJ back.

-C.

Re: RRRRRrrrrrr - damn dealer fooked up my FJ

Tell me about it. I even think that the average Toyota patron would have noticed the paint line & overspray. It was seriously that bad. So bad, that I started to notice it from 10 feet away+.

I did a follow-up call with my sales person and notified her that the paint.....sucked. In my real words..."completely unacceptable."

I simply want it done right, and perfect. Is that really too much to ask?

What's funny about this...there is a shop guy who bought one (black cherry). They painted it. It looks freakin stunning. It was the one that convinced me to do this. Rrrrrr...I want my Fj back.
