New BC FJ owner downunder

Nope, the FJ isn't available in Australia, but thanks to a dozen different forms of technology and several 3am calls, I was able to buy my 2007 Black Cherry.

The hardest part was the time difference and finding the dealer that could get the one I wanted. I went with Toyota of Des Moines and their Internet salesman Steve Henigen. As CRAW mentioned in his post, he was great to work with.

I'll be taking it to Russia (far east - Vladivostok) this fall for three years and looking to join some offroading groups there. Unfortunately, I'll only have a month to get it ready for the trip. First mods will be sliders, skid plate, lift and tires. And if time allows a mod to the bumper with a winch.

I had my Dad and uncle drive over to pick it up after it was all said and done. A big Thanks to my Dad, who patiently handled the power of attorney responsiblities as well.

Here's a pic with my Dad behind the wheel.

Congrats nomadically . I was in Sydney and Cairns this past Christmas. Beautiful city/harbor and best snorkeling. Saw so many FJ 40's there too ... with snorkels

Nomad;
Very cool that you were able to work all that out and get your FJC there before you left. Also that you prolly have the only FJC in Oz, and will have one of the first in Russia. And Black Cherry's are a collectors item now. There's a bunch of folks waiting for ARB in Oz to produce FJC Snorkels and ship them to the US. I think Toyota would have a huge market for FJC's in Oz if they sold them there. Hope you stay safe and have fun in your travels!
Brian
PS: It would be awesome if you could post some pics of your FJC in the outback before you leave Oz, especially if they involve drunken wombats.

Congrats on the purchase of the FJ. Sounds like you are going to have a great time in Russia. Good luck on getting the mods done in such a short time frame.
