towing
i just purchased my new fj yesterday. any ideas on how long you wait before you tow with your vehicle. i know the manual recommends you wait 500 miles before you tow a trailer. with labor day weekend coming up i am wondering how i will get my boat to the lake. has anyone towed a trailer before the 500 miles?

Re: towing
Drive alot before then
If not, I wound't worry, the FJ will be fine. Make sure you change the oil when you get back.

Re: towing
Between now and Labor Day you should have NO problems putting 500 miles on your FJ. Welcome and Congrats.

Re: towing
Just take it easy...no crazy accelerating or abrupt stops. And maybe don't push it to the max regarding your trailers weight.
Don't forget the safety chains!

Re: towing
I started towing just after 500 miles and I have not had any problems to date. Enjoy the FJ Cruiser.

Re: towing
In reality it should only take 8.5 hours of continuous 60mph driving to go the first 500. Times wasting!!
