Talking Lurker for half a year, yet still gotta torn heart

Hey Fj forum peeps, I've been a mad lurker for everyday in the past 1/2 year and feel like I kno everything I should know - mods, common FJ problems, the Octa effect, to A2A sick build up. Now my time is near to stay or jump outta the pool....n I kno I will be flamed or given the expected answer "do what you like best","follow ur heart". I'm TORN between an 07 FJ bone stock, 26K OTD, so that i may do a few mods and have fun wit a MT or get an 07 4runner sports edition 34K OTD wit the sunroof and rear window (and stronger retaining PROVEN value?) SO MANY PROS N CONS!!! Watz a guy to do!!

p.s. was waiting on the sandstorm and saw it in person today at Walnut Creek CA....didn't think highly of it.

Re: Lurker for half a year, yet still gotta torn heart

As I always say when dispelling advice, "If the worst that can happen is not that bad, then it's not that bad..."

Or something similar to that.

OK, here's your flame: "The worst that can happen is that I'll have an FJ with mods...Whaaaa!!"

People are starving in Danfur. Pull the FJ trigger already. Grow up. Welcome to the forum. Any color but VDB...

Friggen, your two choices are awesome ones. You can't lose with either - you know that.

It sounds like you are young; I would do the FJ. If you have kids do the 4runner.

I am old (43) and have kids but did the FJ anyway. Of course I am certifiable, however.

the only thing I don't like about the 4-runner....there are so many 4-runners....get the FJ and spend the difference on mods...That's $8k....that should be enough to make it the truck you really want....and you can stay and play with Me and Octa and Air2Air...and don't forget SFC

Ha! you're tellin me A2A...I'm 28 in a few months wit no kids. So I feel like i dun need the more practical 4runner. I LOVE manual transmissions, and i think that's why my heart says FJ , my brain says 4runner, proven value in the long run.

Given Im only a manager of a *$ and live paycheck to paycheck , I feel like that IF, and only IF(!!!) i do grow outta the FJ I could always upgrade to the 4runner. But my family think that's a bad chance to take.

For some reason, everytime I seem to follow my heart, I seem to make the wrong choice in the long run even if the short term result was fun at the moment....

*sigh

Imma go inside the thinking box a lil more.......
