welcome Catt22. Your story is very similar to mine with the exception that I didn't hate the SF, it just wasn't my first choice. Welcome to Fusion madness.

I almost cried when you said our Sun Fusion was hideous....glad I kept reading!
X2!

I always say that I drive around in my own personal sunshine! Living in Washington state, this has its advantages.

And YES! it does attract attention...my sister calls it my "dude magnet"...I know they're not looking at me.

My husband and I bought for my birthday last January and I STILL smile every time I look in my driveway.

Welcome and Enjoy!

Aha! You're wrong there AutoSun! When I see an FJ, or any other car that I like, the first thing I do is look to see who's driving. If I see a business man with a suit driving a modded FJ, I'll swerve and try to get them off the road so I can steal the ride he don't deserve. If I see a caveman-looking chimp driving that same FJ, I'll smile and pretend it's me . I am willing to bet that you are being looked at, and admired for the sunshine, inside and out (it's mostly envy).

Re: Hello from another new FJC owner

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes on prepared to spend some bucks on the much desired mods. First will be brush guard and tailight guards. Next the stock tires must go and be replaced with BFG AT's. Anyone know if there is a market for the Bridgestones and what a fair asking price might be? I think I would take the first offer just to unload them. What was Toyota thinking?

Re: Hello from another new FJC owner

Wecome aboard Cat22, Being a mechanic myself that was a good story and similar to my experience with a blown head gasket on my '77 530i back in June 2006 forcing me to act now. You got a good deal too. When I bought mine the best I could do was $500 of MSRP! Good Luck with your new rig. Roma

Re: Hello from another new FJC owner

Welcome!

After looking at all the colors, I realized that the colors are all good, its the truck that really a kick in the pants and makes any color good.

I plan to keep mine a looong time too. Kept my last Toyota car 21 years, kept buying new cars as second cars.
