Highlands Ranch? You do know that that's not really part of Colorado, don't you? It's where all the Californians live before they get promoted to middle management jobs in Chicago and Atlanta...

HEY, HEY... Stop throwing things guys.... I was just kidding... Ouch, crud, ouch.... okay, okay!!!

Who's doing the sunroof? Post some picts when it's done, I'm sure we'd all like to see it. Welcome to the forum!!
Well I did move here from So Cal in 99. I didn't know HR at all, was in town on a layover to visit CO on my way to KC to watch Raiders and Chiefs play and fell in love w/ CO, moved to Denver a month later. Met my husband 3 weeks after moving out here, went in together and bought a house that was still being built in HR - wasn't aware I was moving into Stepford Wife country or Wisteria Lane (Desperate Housewives) after 3 months of dating.

Seven years later, still love the guy and the house (gorgeous views of the dog run, Highline Canal, golf course and mountains <or is that foothills?>). I could do without the attitude of some of the HR ladies though.

The sunroof is being installed by the same company that did my leather seats. Burt Toyota first referred me to John's Sunroof on Broadway but my salesguy who keeps in touch regularly enlightened me to the outfit by Commerce City - quality greater and cheaper by $500 - plus they'll warranty it.

The stereo/Sirius/bluetooth is being done by Quality Sound off Littleton and Broadway - also recommended by my salesman. Both outfits are selling at wholesale by way of referral through Burt.

I really want Gobi stealth racks (I chose not to have factory racks) w/ the lights in the front and back but until I check clearance w/ the sunroof, I don't think tilt is doable. Also, another reason no factory racks is that for some strange reason, it would not clear my garage. There's a guy in the same community w/ a Black Cherry and I pulled over one day while he was at the mailbox and asked if he was able to park his FJ (with racks) in his garage and he said he had no problem w/ clearance. Friggen Shea homes!

My first and last Toyota was back in college, 20+ years, (Celica GTS), after getting into the real world and making real money I stood firm w/ German automobiles (Audi, Volvo, BMW, and Porshe) - it was hard to say goodbye to my last 2 cars (A4, practical car - and Z3, fun summer car) for this FJ but I got the FJ for my side biz teaching CPR - can't fit more than 4 adult CPR dummies in an A4 and forget about the Z3. With the FJ (back seat down), I can fit printed materials/files, 10 adult dummies, 10 child and 10 infant dummies.

Will definitely post pics once completed!

Re: Hi from Colorado

Hey, everyone has to live somewhere, or at least that way my excuse when sleeping under the bridges off Speer Blvd, or when I owned a house on the border of Mexico and Vietnam (near Federal & Evans)...

I've got the Gobi Stealth and really like it. Very sturdy. They will also custom make it for you if you want something around your sunroof. Just don't order it the week before you need it. I've got an OME heavy/med lift, and with the stealth I have about 2" to spare on my garage. Let me know and I'll measure peak height if you'd like to know. Also, if you decide to get the gobi, pm me and I'll let you know how to save a few $$$. Also, let me know if you want to see the rack, jump around on it, etc.

Welcome aboard, and you should go check out the colorado fj's site: Home - Colorado FJ Group: 4x4, Off Road, Trail Runs & FUN!
and register to get on our email. Also, since you mentioned CPR, maybe soem of us would be interested in getting/renewing CPR certification, would be nice to know all in our group had it. Just a thought!

Now get out there and play in this fresh snow!!

Hey from Parker.......just was out terrorizing the local slushy streets of southern Douglas County as I hadnt had it in the snow yet (Purchase date of April 15) the thing is a tank!

Maybe it has to do with my new Terra G's and custom lift, but I'm loving it!

Re: Hi from Colorado

Freakin aweome. The front has been raised almost a complete 4" and the back 2 1/2. Sits level and perfect! Body roll is gone in corners , little bumpier/ stiffer but feels like a 4x4 should. I couldnt be happier and will be sending a letter to Doug at Toytec this week. Ill post a few pics of the slush monster in a little while!

I am amazed how it plows thru the heavy slush and doesnt want to break free. I felt as if 4x4H wont even be needed except in the worst of conditions. The VSC and A-trac make a super nice combo for sure!
