Hey veterans, what is going to break on my new FJ?
I have installed a 3" Rough Country lift and 33" BFG T/A KO tires on my FJ otherwise, it is stock (with rock rails, front plate under engine, and brush guard).
I would like to know what parts on the FJ are vulnerable to breakage, especially those that could leave me stranded miles from nowhere. I have taken it on a steep narrow trail that required 1st gear in 4 low only once and it performed briliantly over large obstacles. Didn't bottom out and was solid up and back down the trail. Other than that I have driven on rough backcountry roads in Washington Cascades and the Moab area and I drive way too fast on those roads. I'm impatient and the rig runs smooth over real rough terrain. However, I still feel that I could break something and get stuck. Any guidance you veterans can give would be appreciated including links to specific parts that I may want to upgrade.

Rear lower control arms and skids....then don't break but they bend real easy and make driving home a bicth....buy them now!!! All-pro has a few to choose from....and shock skids....

Yeh, I was wondering about those shock skids. Do they really work? They just don't look like they would do much. Maybe the photos on their site just don't do them justice? Same with the LCA skids. Are they worth it? I'm already planning on the full set of Bud Built skids. Should I add them to my list of skids to buy?

try www.demello-offroad.com or just check out our supporting vendors of this site. they are all great people and usually discount items for forum members.
