Suppose I should Say Hi!

Hey, my name's Dave.... still shopping for a new FJ Cruiser...for now I drive and wheel a 1992 FJ-80. Love this site though, and it's already given me some great information. I post pretty regularly on the "Mud" forums and have been following some of the FJC threads over there as well to get some insight into this current model. Hopefully it will be Spring/Summer '08 when I can pick up my new FJC. I'm still planning to keep the 80 and mod it up to do some more extreme trails though. It will be good to have two Toyota trucks in the driveway...at least I won't have any downtime if something breaks on one or the other

Thanks for having me...I look forward to reading more threads here and gaining a lot more useful info for when it's time to finally purchase and mod my very own FJC.

Dave.

Re: Suppose I should Say Hi!

Thanks all...and the answer about keeping the 80; Yes, I'll keep it as long as it's running. It's got a little over 201k miles on it right now and runs fine. So I don't see myself getting rid of it anytime soon. I'm about to put a Iron Pig rear bumper/tire carrier on it, and an ARB front bumper on it...so no plans to scrap the 80 in the near future. These things are damn near bulletproof, and I only hope my FJC will last as long...I don't see why not.

Re: Suppose I should Say Hi!

Oh, and some pics of my FJ80 in case anyone wanted to see 'em:

The OME Heavy lift on this truck netted me around 4" because I lack a front or rear aftermarket bumper to settle things down as far as weight (normally only lifts the truck around 2.5 to 3 inches with added weight front and rear)...the sliders have since been put on after those pics, but it only added about a total of around 90 lbs..so no real difference in ride height.
