Re: New Poster with New FJ (The Black Ant)

Welcome to the Fj family, blackant!! Blind spot is a thing of the past with stick-on convex mirrors, as you were already thinking. I picked up a Garmin Nuvi 350, and it's great. They supply a small round self stick disc if your not going to use the windshield to suction mount, which I put on the dash in between the gauge cluster and the drivers side dash compartment. Works really well there. Have fun with your new toy!!

Re: New Poster with New FJ (The Black Ant)

Hi guys,

Thanks for the warm welcome.

1) I'll look through the postings. I feel like such a newbie.

2) We paid 27,300 plus tax. I hope that wasn't a rip off.

3) I'll look into the Garmin. I'm hoping there is one with a back up camera

4) Yes, I have the back up "sonar" beepy thing

5) Will definitely get the sticky convext mirrors. Circle or rectabgle....hmmm..choices..choices

Thanks again.

Jim

Does anyone live near the San Fran Bay Area or know of any local FJ clubs so I can learn how to off road?

My wife has a Garmin Nuvi seris GPS. She used the included suction cup window mount and attached it to the smooth area just below the driver side dash vent. The GPS is between the door and the turn signal lever. It's really a nice fit.
That's exactly how and where I put my Garmin Nuvi 200- perfect spot for me-easy to see and work the touch screen while on the go. The colors of the Nuvi also match the FJ interior as well so it looks like it was meant to be there.

Yeah, you gotta get the little mirrors to deal with the blind spot.

Now I have to figure out how do you deal with a bald spot?
