Just picked up my FJ and unexpected problem

Hello to all on this Forum. I just picked up my new FJ and on the way from the dealer stopped to fill up the gas tank. The seatbelt wouldn't release! I tried for 5 minutes and thought I'd have to cut it off when I realized if I pulled the retractor all the way I could do a few contortions and work my way out like an escape artist acrobat. Needless to say I went right back to the dealer where the tech checked it and said he would have to order a new seatbelt latching component. Anyone else experience anything like this with the seatbelt? I would not like to have been in an emergency situation and not been able to get out of the truck!

On a brighter note, this looks to be a very helpful Forum and I'm looking forward to being an active member.

Re: Just picked up my FJ and unexpected problem

I've never heard of that happening to anyone here. It must of just been luck of the draw.

Haven't heard of it permannetly latching. Sometimes it'll lock up when your wheeling. Welcome to the site. There is a search button on the top. You should try to type in seatbelt and see what happens. There arent too many things that I have encountered that havent been addressed already. K

Thumbs up Re: Just picked up my FJ and unexpected problem

Congrats and Welcome aboard! That is a little odd, don't let that spoil your fun. The FJ is a truly Fun Rig! BTW, have the dealer fill yer tank next time...

That's what the service writer said when I brought it back. They told me when I pick it up on Tuesday they were giving me a voucher for a tank of gas!

I can't wait to experience the FJ off road. So far all I got to experience was the sound system with the subwoofer (package 2) and if that is any indication it's going to be great.

Now I'm going to surf the site and look for some accessories. I'd like a brush guard or bull bar for the front as I'm going to be going through some highly vegetative areas. Unfortunately not too many mountains in my area...northern Illinois, southern Wisconsin.

ROFLMAO!
Nice A.D.D. Audiox.

Like everyone else said, it hasn't been a common theme for members here, and we're a pretty picky group.

Search on seatbelt issues and go from there.

Welcome sir.

Mike
