Another crazy FJ owner!

Hi all!
My wife and I got ours July 1st of 2006 and on the 6th, after only 300 miles on it, we headed out for a 11 day adventure to Maine. We have about 12,000 miles on it now. I love it, but it does have a few cons. If anyone knows a solution to these, let me know.
1. The seats: Could they be harder? My wife hurt her back and can hardly sit in it for extended periods of time.
2. Premium gas... bummer.
3. You can't open the rear hatch from inside nor can you open the rear gate from inside the rear. (I was thinking a remote solenoid setup might work.)
4. Traction control. HOW DO I TURN IT OFF!!!!?????? I can't powerslide it or do a donut without the traction control clicking like mad on the dash and the brakes engaging.
5. Anyone make a kit to open the side windows on the mini doors or the back windows yet? Might be nice for ventilation. My old Blazer had popouts and it really cut down on the turbulance.
Any imput would be appreciated. By the way, it's Voodoo Blue, bass speaker, 4 wheel drive, towing package and definitely no runningboards!

Re: Another crazy FJ owner!

I know it has been posted on here a lot
Premium gas is not needed in the FJ
I believe people are reporting about the same gas milage with regular vs premium gas

Re: Another crazy FJ owner!

Thanks. We want to take it up to Silver Lake Sand Dunes sometime. I have to see how this thing handles in the air!

Re: Another crazy FJ owner!

Installed the switch...awesome. The rear window opening is an on going thread...no answer yet though: Pop out rear door windows

Rear window release button: http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forum...tall-pics.html

Been using regular for a while now. No difference, still runs strong. To make the seats harder you could possibly buy one of those seat cushions they sell to make your back perfectly straight...maybe a variation of that...

Welcome aboard!
