Re: looking at buying

Hi Jeff,

I transport my kids all the time. They are 5 and 7 and it's roomy enough for them. There's enough room back there for adults, it's just the view isn't the greatest so you feel a little cramped. If grandma needs to get in and out, you might want to invest in sliders that stick out a bit so she can use it as a step. Good luck on your purchase.

Not true, this is the greatest site on the ethernet!

The 07' FJ Summit in Co looks like it was a blast
Don't know about that, but plan on finding out in 2008, the last year before WWIII starts (Bush will nuke a country before he leaves, just wait and see)

There is one way to deceive your wife and hide your off-roading philandering: smudge some lipstick on your collar and spray some woman's perfume on your hair before you walk back into the house. Your wife will think you're cheating on her and not suspect a thing about off-roading. Whew, that was close!

I am looking at 'downsizing' to the FJ.
Excuse me sir, but "downsizing" and "FJ" are them thar fightin' words. It's not the size of the boat, is the motion of the ocean, ask the artist formerly known as Prince!

My main concern is not having enough room for transporting the kids or grandma when needed.
This will be by far the most serious answer: you should not let grandma get in the FJ, unless she does yoga, or she can sit behind you, and you are 4 feet tall so you can have your seat all the way up to the steering wheel. Most grandmas I know will break a hip upon entering or existing the rear quarter of the FJ.

I would love to hear any advice good or bad on how good this car is as a daily driver/grocery getter. I already know I want it for offroading!
This car is the most fun you'll ever have. It's great off-road, and it is an excellent daily driver as well. If you plan on modding the suspension, make sure you solicit opinions on this forum, some suspensions out there take the civility out of the FJ in the name of "racing" skills. In reality, the stock FJ is an excellent off-roader and you can enjoy it without much modding.

Welcome to the UPGRADED world of FJ.
