Potential FJ buyer....

Have I lost my mind? I'm currently the proud owner of an 06 Tundra DC 4x4 and I LOVE it... However, I find myself itching to wheel again and miss my 4runner (even though I don't fit). So since that itch needed scratching, I dragged the little woman to the local stealership to "test drive" the FJ.

Pros:
I love the way it looks
I like there is LOTS of aftermarket support

Cons:
Some issues with windshield/chassis (hopefully to be fixed with 08)
Huge blind spot

So am I nuts thinking about trading in/selling my DC for a FJ??

I've narrowed my choices down to the 07 TRD or 08 TT.

Oh yea, HI! LOL

Re: Potential FJ buyer....

I agree, mine is tons of fun to drive, is superb off road, tows my boat with ease and I love how easily the interior cleans up. I have however had my fair share of problems as well and I am concerned about this whole thing with the inner fenders. If I had it to do over I might have waited to buy until they got these issues resolved. This is my first Toyota and I am very pleased with the design and performance but not especially with the quality. I was worried about the blind spot too, but honestly you get used to it and with those little spot mirrors its not a huge deal.

Welcome to the forum Corbin. If you can get a discount, I'd say go with the TRD. It definitely does stand out, but being black, you'll have to work hard to keep it looking good. Trading in on your new Tundra is going to rough though.

Re: Potential FJ buyer....

Welcome to the forum! This is my 9th Toyota and it is every bit a reliable as the rest (still have 2 others) and the styling can't be beat. I love the fact that I have a ride that stands out and was relatively cheap.

P.S. I love your screen name by the way (I wonder how many people got the reference; great movie). Hope I am not wrong cuz I guess it could be your real name which would be kinda cool too (but, it would be cooler if you got to bang Leeloo ). K
