Welcome - from across the pond! The rig (or non-car vehicle) is THE best. I have had a riot with it on and off road. This forum is to blame for a lot of that fun too. A great place to be when it is snowing and 22f out; which is the case here in Mich at the moment.

What are your plans for your FJ? Much off roading with it? There is a pretty good group here in the midwest. Check out this link http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/mid-west-region/
for members in the area.

Glad you are here and looking forward to another victim of FJ obsession!!
MichEE, Looks like a lot of fun groups in the area. Thanks for the link. As far as what I plan to do with my FJ. . . .I guess that depends on how far I can go with mods and still keep it practical for my everyday ride. For practicality reasons I do plan on looking at the automatic trans models. Can the automatic models do serious off roading? I guess that's what I will find out in this forum.

A couple of you have mentioned that I should make sure I get what I want. Does that mean it is difficult to find certain option packages, colors ext.?

Re: Hello From Wisconsin

Welcome from a Wisconsin-transplant, still dreaming for a time to return to the great white sub-north. With my FJ, of course.

Good vehicle choice for Wisconsin...great for hunting and hauling toys.

Good questiosn... I'd like to see the what the "seasoned" off roading vets say about this one; I prefer the automatic since I am unable to use my legs!!

But I did a 3 speed - turbo 400 swap on my old '68 Chevy 4x4 so I'd have an automatic either way. But there may be other reasons and I'd be interested in their views. Post that question in it's own thread ans see what you get!

Hey drtlvr, Do most of my dual sport riding around my cabin near Winter WI. Not real big on organized rides, like some close friends and a fun trail instead.

Do this one every year: Enduraid Rally

Did this last spring: Picasa Web Albums - Randy - Moab Day 5

Looking forward to this one next year:2008 Iowa / Wisconsin gravel ride suggestions? - ADVrider

Always up for a new riding buddy. . . .care to do some gravel/trails next june?
You could show me your FJ and tell me all you know
