Just got back from the inaugural off road drive with the new ride, and now I have a bit of an issue. I have got this stupid grin that I can't seem to wipe off my face. Is this a permanent condition?

Seriously, though. Had a great little trip and the windshield wipers were great, handling was perfect and I had a real blast. I took some pictures, and will post them here. I also snapped a couple of shots of the blind spot mirrors install. There were a lot of motorcycles on the road, and being a biker myself, I know how big of an issue this can be. I just went to a local hardware store and just stuck them on. No thought was involved, and I would not change the position. Most review mention the blind spot as one of the biggest issues with this fantastic vehicle, and now that problem is eliminated. Unfortunately, I have to drive through busy areas to get to the trails, so this $4 investment gives me great peace of mind.
$4?! Where are you coming up with that kind of dough?

That grin just won't go away (at least mine hasn't). The type and where you placed the mirrors is close to what I was considering. Just need to go do it. I'm afraid if I do it the wife will want to drive it more. Its a version of the old risk reward relationship -- the higher the risk, the more I get to enjoy it

Re: New FJ and a whole lot of excitement!

From one Newbie to another... welcome to the Forum. You have probably already discovered that there is a wealth of knowledge available on this site. Take advantage of it before buying any mods or doing any work on your baby.

I don't want to get off topic, but Bad Horsie, buy those mirrors. If you place them correctly, your blind spot will never be an issue. Best $4 I have spent.
