Hi everyone. I just bought an imported FJ (slightly used with only 3000 miles on it) a month back from an equally fanatic ex-FJ owner here in Manila, Philippines. Toyota doesn't sell FJ's in this country so we FJ lunatics have to resort to all means to get our hands on one. While FJ's are available in scarce quantities from "independent car importers", it is quite expensive (the landed cost including taxes almost triple the price of one in the U.S.) and parts are hard to come by. Nonetheless, I am thrilled to own one and it never fails to get head-turns wherever I go. I got a nice grey-colored FJ with a roof rack and it's still in its pristine showroom aroma.
I look forward to the forum for help in servicing the FJ since local Toyota dealers here are unfamiliar with it and most probably, won't service it. So, if any one (specially other FJ owners here in Manila) can offer and share servicing advice, I would be immensely appreciative.
Welcome,
I am excited that you have one. I am coming to the Phils in December hope to meet up with you. My wife is from Pateros. Have fun with your new toy.

welcome acliong! congrats in owning one of the 20 fjc's in the philippines. while most casas wont service your fjc, you can certainly find a qualified independent tech there. hell, i'd slap on a turbo diesel or propane on that badboy and make everyone drool here in the states.
70k question: what made you get an fjc when the lc is in the same ballpark?
--just wondering
Hi FJDunkball,
Sure thing. I live in the south of Manila (Alabang-Sucat area) but it shouldn't be a problem to hook up with you when you come visit in December. I'd look forward to it.
Hi Sandoo Blue FJ,
Oragon's right. More than half pf the country is off road paradise. But why go far? Even somne of Manila's roads are considered off road challenges. With our rainy season here, we get potholes as big as craters and floods as deep as rivers. FJ's will be at home here. Hehehe!
Thanks Oragon. I just love the FJ the first time I set eyes on it, I've got a Pajero and and Volvo XC90 as well so I thought it an FJ will be a nice difference to my SUV collection. Hahaha. I guess I'm just enjoying my second childhood ever since my wife passed away year and a half ago.
