Bought a barely used FJ Cruiser. Unique beige color with some kind of wheel upgrade (from a Sequoia?). Very nice.
I've had toyotas since the mid-70s and am also a BMW head. Like to work on my own cars but have lots of warranty on the FJ so will probably let the dealer take care of this one (although I don't trust mechanics!).
quick pic below.
I already have a question: The immobolization light blinks twice even when driving the car. What's up with that?
Welcome to the forum. Nice looking FJ. I have a 2008 too. It's quirky but I love it.
The color is Sandstorm. The brotherhood of Sandstorms will hunt you down if you say Beige again.
I'm sure you'll get a lot of questions about the wheels. There is a lot of interest concerning wheels that will fit, especially wheels off other Toyotas.

Thanks guys. What's up with the immobilizer light? I did a search and didn't see anything like what I'm seeing. It blinks while driving. Two short blinks then a pause. The dealer owes me the remotes so all I have is a master key but it does not have a remote built into it. Looks like the remote is a separate fob? I'm waiting on their service dept to reopen so I can get the remotes programmed.
Oh yeah, now I'll call it sandstorm. Don't see a lot of that color.

Sounds like the keys are the problem. I assume you're using a gray colored key without the remote built into it? Your FJ should have come with the gray key (valet key) and 2 black ones with the built in fobs.

Welcome aboard the SS FJ! Nice color choice, as well.
As far as the immobolizer lights blinking, the only advice I can give you is have the dealer look at it, especially since it is still under warranty and they owe you some remotes, anyway. This has never happened to me, so I have no idea what it could be.
If you have the Toyota alarm, you should have a seperate remote that operates the door locks and arms the alarm at the same time, as well as a panic button on the back of the remote.
Sorry I was not of more help, but I am sure that if other Forum members don't know, the dealer surely can hep with this issue. Keep us posted as to what the problem turns out to be.

You have a 2008, while mine is a 2007, so the keys and alarm are different, if I am not mistaken. Sorry for the confusion!

Nice rig, I really like that color. Did you happen to get the steel wheels with the deal?
I just joined recently and find myself on here a couple of times a day, I love this site! Happy Fourth!
