Hello from Colorado!

Hey y'all Ive had my FJ for a little over a year now (bought august 2008) but seeing that I use this forum so much for info I've decided to join in! Got almost 14000 miles on it, love everything about the vehicle and enjoy offroading it around beautiful CO. This is my first truck so Im looking forward to lots and lots of modifications of course.

I run the stock rugged trails and after one winter on those I am done. Those tires were quite poor in my opinion and I had too many close calls last year. Im down to choosing either BFG ALL Terrains of Goodyear Duratracs. Any opinions? I would be doing highway driving in the snow to go to the mountains with more offroad trips in the warmer months. I need a tire that can handle moderate offroad trails and the highway...

Also first gear grinds and i cant shift into it sometimes?? Just first gear and if it jams i just ease off the brake and let the car roll...then it lets me fully shift into first..

Thank you

Re: Hello from Colorado!

so i got the BFG A/T! I love how these tires look on the truck... And it happened to snow 2 feet so I got to test them out. Compared to my old tires (BFG Rugged Trails), its like I wasn't driving in snow at all. No problems braking or steering the car. The tires felt confident and i didn't notice any problems with snow getting packed in the tread. The tire self cleans quickly and isn't noisy on the road. The thing is I only bought 4.... and am looking to pick up a 5th for cheap to make my spare match the other tires. Anyone know of a lightly used BFG all terrain 265/75R16?

Re: Hello from Colorado!

I bought the BFG TA KO's and really like them. I also live in Colorado. I have only had them on the truck for about a week, but I ran the stock tires the first day we had that big snow last week and then put on the KO's and the difference was great!
