what is that on your spare tire? (not the trash bag)

It's a Thule Spare-Me bike rack. It's folded down there, but it comes out on top and holds two bikes nicely.

Good for you. +1

I like to do the same thing, I just wish all folks would do the same when they go out. I would help not only clean up the environment but it would help clean up the image of off-roader's all around. It would be one-less thing the envio-nazi's could use against us in trying to shut down our trails.

Re: Be the change you want to see on the trail.

Trash left over at camp sites and Trails is a huge problem in So. Cal. , I always bring gloves and a box of trash bags.
Ive actully gone up to a group of people that had trash all over and said "Im from the, National Department of Camp Grounds" and said "Heres some trash bags if you leave trash we wrote down your lic. plates you will get a ticket." Not safe to do to gangbangers but to families it works.

wow...even gangbangers camp in So Cal? lol

One that annoys me just as much is if i come upon a camp site and they still have smoldering logs in the campfire. How hard is it to pour some water or at least dig some dirt over it before you leave. Not to much a problem down here, but i imagine it could be detrimental up where you guys have those huge forests.

Re: Be the change you want to see on the trail.

A few years ago in Moab at the Easter Safari I had my pickup and the trail leaders made a little contest for the kids on the trip to pick up trash and win a prize. They put most of the trash bags in my truck to be hauled out and by the end of the trail I had 2/3's of my bed full. It's disgusting that people can't carry it out and toss it when they get to town or home. I was on a trip 3 weeks ago and was getting ready to pass a guy and out the window came a water bottle. I think he realized I was pissed by the time I finally got around him and on the way showed him the glass bottle and pointed at his windshield.
