Be the change you want to see on the trail.

I've gotta tell you, I get pretty pissed when I see trash all over a beautiful trail out here. I can't image what manner of idiot does this kind of thing. So today I decided enough ranting, enough wishing there wasn't garbage all over - it's time to do something about it.

My g/f and I took a trash bag and some gloves out wheelin' today, picked up any crap we saw on the trail. Ended up filling the bag!

I'm sure alot of people here do this kind of thing, but I wanted to bring it up anyway. Imagine how pristine the land could be if we did this just every now and then! With one bag I probably erased a dozen fools' trash.

Come on man....you don't need excuses to go hit the trails.

Seriously...I do the same when i hike or camp. It's ashame. Some people really don't care. I'm no tree hugger, but i hate to see people throwing crap out the window or in nature in general.

Good job. Ever since Boy Scouts I've always tried to "take more than I leave", i.e., pick up other people's trash and pack it out.

Re: Be the change you want to see on the trail.

This is a serious issue. You are lucky you could drive the trail and just get A BAG of trash. Some of the TTORA boys are setting up a run to matigorda beach to clean it up. It is gonna require trailers and a big county dumpster at the minimum.

Hats off to all who tread lightly and keep our off road accessable areas open due to proactive meaures such as this.

A major x2!!

Rep points to you, tibaal89 and everyone else in this thread for reminding us.

And, your trash bag hanging off the spare tire is great advertising!! Hopefully, anyone who sees it will also become "infected" by this quest.
