Re: Threads I'd like to see here.

Perhaps those original posters can ask a mod to duplicate their threads to here so we can all give our input (like a livingpost) and make sure the tech artical is as complete from all of our heads as possible?

That way they don't have to type it all again, unless cut and paste works

Thanks to ekool for making this happen!

Re: Threads I'd like to see here.

I thought the mod is suppose to cut and paste all relevant info? This is brand new so there's a lot of testing around and see what format works the best. Can't wait to see it happen. I would prefer a edited version of the posts, which means the mods will be quite busy. I would also prefer all the posts be locked in the tech section to keep it clean.

You've got the idea. The threads will go here in the staging area first and we we will all contribute (many heads are better than one) and then when the thread is more or less ready (some editing can be done once it is locked) it gets locked in the tech archive section.

If I had a good tech article that was mine I'd put it in here and get cracking.

Re: Threads I'd like to see here.

Ok, Guys I'm having a problem when coping over into a new thread, it shows that I'm the Orginal poster I'll have to get with ekool or JayC and see what I can do. I think I understand what you want. Once the thread is here, then lock it out so know one can post any responses. It this correct?

It seems like that would be the appropriate way to go. That way, the original posters will get acknowledgement for their original ideas / contributions.

A lot of pertinent and useful potential threads for this section haven't always been delegated as "stickies." However, if we keep the actual threads limited to significant how-to topics (minus the follow-up chit-chat / comments), the moderators could edit, amend and/or combine other pertinent data from other contributors in other related threads . . . . thus keeping all known information on a given topic consolidated within one thread and easy for members to find.

Can you make it so whoever does post a thread has it "locked" so only he/she can access it for add-ons or editing??

Here is the problem with that, everyone will want their thread psoted here. This will not work, we have over 14,000 members now. We have to keep this area to "Stickeys" otherwise it will spiral out of control real quick, sorry.
