I PM'ed ekool to see if we could have Tech Article poster (kinda like the eBay poster) for the final posts to be locked up under in the actual Technical article forum (we are in the livingpost and staging are subforum right now).

What do you guys think about the format above? I had a few more ideas but I've now forgot them...

Here is an example:

Re: Tech Article Format

That looks great, Joel. Great idea for the format. Simple and to the point.

Thanks.

Thanks Steve. Check out my suggestions to Shadow's SCUBA diff MOD and see if I am headed in a suitable direction.

Re: Tech Article Format

Joel, that looks good. Very clear and everything in one place. I also agree that the tech area shouldn't be temper with much once an article has made it there-unless things have changed (i.e. factory changes in from year to year). So what should we do now the the current threads? They are useful, but not in a very good format. PM the OP and have them reorganize it and add new info as needed? Tech articles should be as clear and concise as possible. Many of those threads have responses and questions that needn't be in there.

We'll leave the current threads in their original state, even after we copy them over here for refinement.

Once we gather up the relevant threads over here, I'm going to try to get the OP's to provide any current updates, additions, deletions, etc., that they may have.

Agreed. That's where the editing process comes into play upon the threads' arrival. I'm going to try to narrow it down to primarily the OP's initial posting, accompanied by his/her pertinent follow-up comments, and thin out the follow-up responses.

Once posted here, the thread will be closed. However, it will still provide adequate links back to the original thread for follow-up comments and/or questions.

To keep it as an article and for ease of reading... I would have the O. Poster add everything pertinent into the OP. The article should be closed as 1 post.

Visit Yotatech for an example...

Exactly, Joel. It might take a while longer to do the consolidation, but it will be well worth it to keep it all as "one read."
