Any suggestions?
I put the M8000 control box right on top of the bumper cover. The control box wires are just long enough to reach from there and the power cables are also long enough to reach my dual Optima battery at the left rear of the engine compartment. Pics below.

Mine is mounted in the brush guard's (cross bar) light bar, in between the driving lights.

Re: Lucrum Winch Mount - M8000 control box suggestions

I prefer to hide it, even if it will be hard to get to. I figure I need to stick it behind my bumper (if there is space)

I was hoping for some hidden pics for ideas to put it

Re: Lucrum Winch Mount - M8000 control box suggestions

Mine is located just to the left of the fogs under the tupperware. I cut some holes for connecting the hand controls and IR signals. My bumper is so crapped up that I didn't really try to make it look good. But it works =).

Thanks.

They call it Hood bulge assembly or Air inlet grille.

I like it in black but I don't want to paint it, so I ordered the assembly for the Black FJ;

Part number is 76180-35030-CO and I paid $162.89 plus shipping.

Re: Lucrum Winch Mount - M8000 control box suggestions

Sandman,
That's exactly where I ended up putting mine. Right down to the hose clamps holding it to the light bar support . Instead of relocating the plug socket i've got mine connected to a ramsey wireless winch controller with the wireless control box mounted inside the engine compartment just behind the passenger side headlight. The antenna has a magnetic mount and is sitting in the winch bumper between the winch and the control box. It works great and I'm happy I have the control box out of sight. I still have to install the winch power disconnect, but don't plan on doing that until after winter ends up here.

Re: Lucrum Winch Mount - M8000 control box suggestions

Hey, riverside isnt tooo far from SD. Its pretty straight forward only 5 or 6 wires to be extended.

I had been mulling over doing this way for a while, and in fact saw/heard someone doing it here before (mighta been you but with the wireless) . The other option would be to extend the motor control leads allowing the solenoid box to be mounted under the hood (providing a whole lot more protection from water), but the the solenoids look very well sealed so I opted to go this route.

I dont have a remote disconnect on the winch yet, however I do keep the battery lead disconnected unless im on the trail.
