Re: New Tire Carrier for FJ from Lucrum

Awesome! The only thing that I would change is the tire height.
Perhaps lower it a bit.

Nice job Chris! Talk about moving fast! You got this thing done quick. I can't argue with lifetime warranty either. Can you do this with a AllPro fit kit? Tell us about that rear winch too. I'm very interested in having a rear winch.

btw, what kind of bushes did you run into to get it all scratched up like that?

Kidding. The paint job is very unique.

Re: New Tire Carrier for FJ from Lucrum

Thank goodness I already have my MAF auxillary tank and have no need to carry any gas can (unless I need more than a 500 mile range) or I would be wanting this too. But, I'm sure this won't impede sales ... there should be more than enough takers for this mod without me.

On the other hand, that photo of the Warn rear bumper and winch with a hitch got me thinking . . . only problem is that the Warn is one of those rear bumpers that doesn't work well with the MAF auxillary tank -- thank goodness for that too!

Re: New Tire Carrier for FJ from Lucrum

Thanks for all the great questions. Here are some answers;

Looks awesome Chris!

Does the departure angle change with the tire carrier? Or does the new carrier go through the bumpers. Any close up pictures you can show us on how it attaches and goes though or around the bumper?

No, the departure angle is not affected because the tire is higher than the plane you measure from. No part of this is lower than the frame of the vehicle or the plane measured from the rear tire to the frame of the vehicle.

Do not have any close ups yet. Will get those once there are some installed on some others with other fit kits.

I would think he would save money since he doesn't need any fit kit.
A fit kit will be needed with each install. Those available first will be for STOCK, ARB, WARN and All-Pro. We can offer the parts seperately if you want to custom job it.

Really slick!

Compatibility with the Gobi Ladder?

Not sure can someone get me the dimensions of how far the ladder sticks out at a few heights from the bottom to about a foot up? Can tell then.

does this mean there might be a Lucrum rear bumper with integrated rear tire carrier, expedition cans, and etc in near future....

then again with this setup I would not need to buy a new bumper other than for extra strength. mmmmmmmmmmmm
We do not have any plans to compete with rear bumpers. One of the directives of our design philosophy is to work with what the FJ already has to make it better for overland adventures, hence our winch mount without throwing away the whole bumper or BWE's without doing the same. We also like to make cool stuff, but a rear bumper for now wont be one.

Thanks for the suggestion but for the reason answered above we want to keep the tire out of the way so the decent angle is not decreased. To do this the tire needs to be at its height. Thanks for the suggestion though.

The paint is actually a vinyl wrap from apewraps.com check them out they are amazing. Wont scratch or get torn up like paint and if it does you just take it off and your new paint is still untouched. As far as the question goes for the fit kit, the warranty applies to all parts, fit kit included. Just in case there is any question we make the fit kits not the other manufacturers of rear bumpers. No details on the rear winch here, may do another thread. Still never done a build thread.

Thanks for the answers Chris. Looking forward to it. I would also really like to see how you've done the rear winch (build up thread! ).

Chris, I am interested, but it would have to be closer to the initial $500 deposit than further away.
